Arab Community Center for Economic and Social Services’ project aimed to strengthen WIC awareness, enrollment and retention in the Metro-Detroit area.
The project focused on i innovative outreach strategies including engaging community members in developing WIC educational materials. and conducting outreach events at community hubs and local faith-based organizations.
Lessons learned from the project are applicable to other communities that serve populations with limited health literacy.
