Hunger Task Force’s project aims to strengthen WIC outreach, awareness, and enrollment among eligible WIC participants statewide with a focus on rural, Tribal, and communities of color in Milwaukee, Racine, Kenosha, Rock, and Brown Counties.
The Hunger Task Force will use the expanding partnerships strategy and an incentive model that targets both WIC participants and program partners, a two-phase WIC digital media campaign that will complement the WIC Wisconsin “WIC Mom Strong” campaign, SNAP navigators as WIC navigators, and the outreach-driven WIC Participant Data Collection Project that includes focus groups, surveys, and interviews.
Hunger Task Force will compile a robust dataset and a list of findings, replicable strategies, best practices, and recommendations that other communities and WIC providers can use to maximize program enrollment.
Hunger Task Force will engage with the WIC Mentor Team to create a publication that highlights the project results for the purposes of sharing outcomes and best practices with state/local agencies, food banks, and other nonprofit social service agencies.
